Our region is full of outdoor recreation opportunities. The Elk Country Visitor Center is a few short miles away. There you can enjoy a 4D story theater, interactive exhibits, programs, prime elk viewing opportunities, a MADE IN THE USA gift shop, short walking trails and many events throughout the year. (The Elk Expo - August, Ride for the Elk - July, Arts Fest - June, Kill the Grill BBQ Competition - July.) The Center's ECCO Building is a popular site for weddings, family reunions and meetings. The newly constructed Kinzua Bridge Visitor Center sits amidst the state park and adjoining the sky walk and is a short hour drive away. The Sinnemahoning Wildlife Center is about 40 minutes away and is also a must see while you are in the area. Dining and Bars are nearby with a wide variety of options to meet your choice.
The beautiful Bennett Branch of Sinnemahoning Creek is within sight of the cabins and is stocked in the spring for an enjoyable day fishing. Canoeing, kayaks and tubing are also popular water sports there. The national registered, Clarion River can be reached in about 30 minutes and has numerous canoe/kayak liveries and fishing opportuities that are considered to be some of the best in the state. One of the attractions in the Pennsylvania Wilds region is the opportunity to turn your eyes to the skies and view some of the most amazing dark skies in Pennsylvania. Many nearby trails in Benezette, the Quehanna Wild area and others offer novice to experienced hikers a chance to get out, and get away. A new trail has recently been added just above the cabins- so no need to even get in your car to take a break from life.
We have many wineries, moon shine shops and Straub Brewery are all within short drives from your central location. Unique shops are scattered along the way and offer handcrafted items like pottery, wood toys and chainsaw carvings.
